How did you choose It?
Like I said I played my first gigs in spain, with Julie, and she used her real name, so we became Julie and Yke (we put Femme Fatale on our first flyer). I thought about good DJ names often after but never got any further than Lady Yke, a name that MCs gave me during gigs and which was later put on flyers too. I also used to write my name as Y.K.E. so it looked like it stood for something interesting. But these days I am just Yke.

I guess around 500.

What style of music do you play?
Jungle, drum'n'bass.

Where do you DJ?
Mainly in Amsterdam, but last year I did two gigs in Slovenia. I've also toured around Poland, played in Germany, Portugal and England.

Your ideal DJ gig?
My ideal gig involves a really good soundsystem, good equipment and lots of funky people having a good time!

Chopstick, Dubplate.

Current musical obsession?
Combining live music with digital music.
