DJ Dash has lived in Amsterdam for almost two years, after moving to the city to work on a Playstation 2 game, as an artist. Before then he lived in London, working by day as a games artist and deejaying by night at Club Mofo. Apart from deejaying and making mix tapes, he's into art and films. He also likes to take to the streets on his skateboard from time to time if it's sunny.

How did you choose It?
There is a song by the Go Team called Panther Dash which I really like and thought it would make a good DJ name. It also fits my style of playing – that is dashing around looking for tunes, having a dance in-between, then finally running back in time to mix in the next tune. (I used to have the name DJ Shorty but there a many DJ Shortys out there I realised.)

Vinyl junkie or CDs?
CDs. I just grew up having a CD player and a little mixer so stuck with them. It also means I can carry far more with me :)

How many records/CDs do you have?
Around 800 CDs the last time I checked.

What style of music do you play?
Indie mostly, stuff that people can sing along to while jumping around on the dance floor. I also like to play some hip hop and stuff like The Chemical Brothers.

Where do you DJ?
I used to DJ at Club Mofo in London. Now I DJ at my own club night Club Rascal, as well as friends' parties and gatherings.

Your ideal DJ gig?
DJing at my own night Club Rascal (dreams do come true J )

Last record/CD you bought?
The new album by The Cribs.

Current musical obsession?
Anything that is brand new out of the UK's alternative music scene.

Top 3 all-time dancefloor favourites?
Beastie Boys, Franz Ferdinand and The Chemical Brothers.

Worst request?
Some German death metal band I’d never heard of. The guy requesting it constantly assured me during the night that it was a great track :)
